Valery Fyodorov

Political analyst, sociologist, General Director of the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM)

Valery Valeryevich Fyodorov is the General Director of the Russian Public Opinion Research Center.

Born in 1974, he is a philosophy graduate of Lomonosov Moscow State University. There he completed his postgraduate studies on history and theory of political sciences and became a Candidate of Political Sciences.

Valery Fyodorov started his career at the Institute of Mass Political Movements of the Russian-American University. Later he became a research associate of the Center for Current Politics in Russia and the Institute of Social and Political Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In September 2003, he became the General Director of the Russian Public Opinion Research Center, the Head of the Academic Council of the Center and a member of the Board of Directors.

Valery Fyodorov is also the current Counsel to the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office.

He is a member of the Public Council of the Russian Defense Ministry, Council on National Strategy, Public Council of the Russian Ministry of Culture, Expert Council of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and several other entities.

Valery Fyodorov was awarded the second-class medal of the Order of Merit for the Motherland, and the Order of Friendship. He received the Note of Acknowledgement by the President for the lasting personal contribution and community service, as well as several other honors.
